This one is for all your survivalists and camping enthusiasts. Let’s make a gear hammock to keep some of your stuff off the ground and dry when needed; all you need is the Original External Backpack Net and a tree to anchor the net points to, and you’re all set. Just another way for this All-American backpack accessory to help you PACK, Hold, in this case, and Carry.

It starts with the Original External Backpack Net. You can see it’s designed in a triangle form. You have two tails, a long one and a short one, let’s start with the corner that has no tail, or the fixed end, and let’s find a branch.

Grab that fixed end wrap it around a branch and clip it, keep in mind the weight of what you want to put in the makeshift gear hammock, and pick good solid branches to attach the net to.

Find your second branch, I used the short tail end here because I saved the long tail to undo the daisy chain for more cord for my last anchor point and I made need much more cordage to help me get to that branch and/or anchor point. But here I wrap the short tail and clip my carabiner to one of the loops in the daisy chain. Two points are connected already, we’re almost there.

Don’t overthink this process, I undo the long tail from the daisy chain, and I find that third anchor point to wrap it around.

Once it’s wrapped around the branch, I come back to the net, find a mesh go through it, and find an anchor point to clip that final step. In a nutshell, connect all three points, add tension to your desire, and clip it to secure it. It’s a really fast setup. Keep your stuff dry, off the ground, or just add some organization for some of your stuff at your campsite. Stay safe and adventurous wherever the day takes you.

I hope this tip helps and adds value to the versatility of this net.
