What is this backpack accessory?

The Mini OPSnet is a compact, small, and mighty backpack net that’s not so mini. It is designed to be attached to the PALS webbing of your Molle backpack. You can use your favorite carabiners to secure it or weave the long tail of the net through the webbing to anchor it. This creates a small external net pocket on your Molle backpack, right where your PALS webbing is located. It's the same high-quality USA-made paracord, just in a smaller, more convenient size. Hand-crafted in Pennsylvania, USA, it's the perfect backpack accessory for your Molle-compatible backpack, which you can super-size when needed.

NOTE: “The Mini OPSnet is for daisy chain packs and Molle-compatible backpacks with PALS webbing ONLY!” It is NOT big enough to wrap around your normal, everyday backpacks like the original external nets that we sell. The Mini OPSnet is meant for backpacks with that anchor point built into their pack, for example, daisy chain, PALS webbing, Molle packs, etc.” The Mini OPSnet comes with two heavy-duty plastic clips, one to attach to your grab handle and the other clip on the long tail that you undo and use to weave through your webbing to anchor the net when creating your pocket and/or to clip your final lash point to secure and/or tighten your items in the net. If you choose not to use the long tail, you will need to add additional carabiners to create separate and alternative anchor points around your PALS webbing pack to attach the mini net. Have fun with it, don’t overthink it, make it unique, and make it useful to PACK, HOLD, and CARRY more to keep your hands free.

Fits your your smaller day packs with molle webbing.

Add that extra pocket for your convenience, keep dirt and sand out of your pack, let things air out and dry if needed, and still carry “just a little bit more.” The mini OPSnet is really not so mini. Your Molle backpack may have various anchor points to attach to the net; find which one works best for you and keep it hands free and keep it on your back.

This is an example of weaving the long tail thru the webbing creating a more fixed anchor point for your Mini OPSnet pocket. (Scroll down some more to see a quick overview of how to do this.)

There’s no right or wrong way to weave through your webbing, just anchor the net, lash through meshes, stuff your pocket, and secure your stuff.

This example has “Grimlock carabiners” anchoring the Mini OPSnet to the pack. Use any carabiners of your choice for your anchoring needs to attach the mini net to the pack.

Just tuck your long-tail away or clip elsewhere on the pack and use it to lash thru meshes and tighten things up when the time calls for it.

NOTE: Grimlock carabiners not included.

Quick overview on one option how to weave the longtail thru the PALS webbing to attach the Mini OPSnet to your molle compatible backpack.

Weave the long tail thru your PALS webbing while lashing thru meshes of the net.

To begin you may want to undo the daisy chain on the long tail to provide more cord to weave in and out thru your webbing. Have the long tail side of the Mini OPSnet toward the front of your pack working towards the back of your pack. Don’t overthink the process were going to create a pocket on the side of the pack.

Undo the daisy chain from the longtail for more cord length to lash through meshes of the net and weave in and out of your existing webbing throughout your pack.

Start weaving thru the webbing and lash your meshes from left to right then go up the side of the pack towards your grab handle.

poke a mesh thru the webbing than weave the long tail thru.

work the bottom meshes of net thru the webbing and weave your long tail thru/ almost like sewing the net on.

work it around the pack.

go up your pack now and weave your long-tail thru the webbing then lash a mesh, again long-tail thru webbing, lash a mesh, and again, and again, make your way to the top of your pack. It doesn’t take long.

Good work! use the remainder of you long tail to close your pocket after you stuff your stuff!, or daisy chain it up and tuck it away and use your favorite carabiners, there’s no wrong way. Have fun with it!

wrap the top of the Mini OPSnet around your grab handle and clip it to a mesh and you will see your pocket that you made.

I use my favorite carabiners to close my pocket up, and you can use yours!

NOTE: Grimlock carabiners not included.
